How to Enable IPv6 in Windows 10 1809
Microsoft has made the latest feature update available to all users since 2nd October 2018. As usual, the newer feature updates bring new things-Some good, Some bad which are not liked by some and weird for some. One of the new issue encountered after updating to 1809 by users is UWP apps not connecting to the Internet and throwing error code 80072EFD, in the Store.
Why?
The reason for this error code is simple-IPv6 is disabled on your device-Either intentionally or unintentionally. Actually, Microsoft has made IPv6 mandatory to be enabled to use UWP apps from version 1809. So if you want to use network connectivity in apps, you must have IPv6 enabled. So if you are encountering the error code, just enable IPv6 and the apps should start connecting again.
How to enable IPv6?
To enable IPv6, follow the steps below:
- Right-click Start>Run.
- Type in ncpa.cpl and Press OK.
- In the new Window that opens, right-click your Network adapter from which you connect and choose Properties.
- Check IPv6 and Press OK.
- Disable and Enable your Network adapter from the Same page.
Hopefully, those who are affected by this would have the issue solved by this. If that does not, Support is always open for you.
