October Patch Tuesday Updates for Windows 10 released
Following a very busy week and the October Update fiasco, Microsoft is back to releasing October Patch Tuesday updates for all supported versions of Windows 10. Let us discuss them one by one. Version 1809 updates are covered in a separate blog post.
Version 1803
For the stable release of Windows 10(as of writing this 😉), Microsoft has released KB4462919 which jumps the build number to 17134.345. Following fixes are coming up with this release:
Security updates to Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Peripherals, Windows Shell, Windows Kernel, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Linux, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

Version 1709
For version 1709, Microsoft has released KB4462918 which jumps the build number to 16299.726. Following fixes are coming up with this release:
Security updates to Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Peripherals, Windows Shell, Windows Kernel, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Linux, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.
Known issues
There is a known issue with the update.
After installing this update, some users may see a dialog box with a non-applicable message beginning with the words “Hosted by…” when first starting Microsoft Edge
.
This dialog will only appear once if they have turned on “Block only third-party cookies” in Microsoft Edge and applied certain language packs before installing this update.
