Windows 10 last version will be 22H2 release
Through a blog post, Microsoft announced some details of the future Roadmap of Windows yesterday. After eight years of continuous development, Microsoft announced that Windows 10, version 22H2, is the last version of Windows, with now only supported Monthly updates. Initially, Microsoft had said that Windows 10 was the final version of Windows and would be serviced with updates. However, after COVID-19, Microsoft switched plans and introduced Windows 11. Concurrently, Windows 11 got mixed reviews. Microsoft plans to service Windows 10 until October 10, 2025.
No more Feature updates after the last version, 22H2
With the announcement yesterday, it is clear that Windows 10 22H2, will be the final major release of Windows. Windows 10 has been an extremely successful Operating System for Microsoft which is widely adopted too.
Windows 11 to get LTSC version in 2024
It is two years since Windows 11 was introduced. As it is very reliable nowadays, Microsoft will be providing LTSC version of Windows 11 next year in later 2024, just before the support of Windows 10 ends. Concurrently, This will be the first LTSC version of Windows 11. Microsoft says it will share more information as we get closer to the scheduled release window. However, existing Windows 10 LTSC releases will continue to receive updates beyond that date based on their specific lifecycles, as mentioned.
