New GTA 6 gameplay and map leaks are spreading online just days before Rockstar’s official Extended Look
Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is facing another major leak wave just days before Rockstar Games is expected to show the game again. Since August 18, 2026, a group or individual calling itself CyberLeek has released gameplay clips, map images and short pieces of footage online. Rockstar and Take-Two have been issuing copyright takedowns, although the material continues to appear through reposts and mirrors.
The timing is interesting because Rockstar’s official GTA VI: An Extended Look is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 27, followed by the company’s YouTube channel and website six hours later. GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What happened with the GTA 6 leaks?
The first major CyberLeek posts appeared on August 18, with gameplay showing Jason Duval, driving footage, and what was presented as a larger map of Leonida, the fictional state where GTA 6 takes place. More clips followed on August 19 and August 20, showing driving, combat, police encounters and other parts of the game.
The footage appears to be much more than an edited fan video. Several reports say it looks like material from a development build, and the rapid DMCA takedowns by Take-Two add to the belief that at least some of the material is genuine. However, Rockstar has not publicly confirmed the leaked footage, so it is still better to treat every detail as unconfirmed.
The leaked map has also attracted a lot of attention. Reports describe multiple counties, rural areas, islands, wetlands and the Vice City area. One of the more interesting clues came from the music heard in a leaked driving clip. Reports identified Tate McRae’s “Sports Car,” a song released in 2025. This has led to speculation that at least some of the leaked material may come from a more recent development build, although it does not prove exactly when the footage was recorded.
New footage has also reportedly shown Jason flying a plane and exploring parts of the game world from the air. That has increased speculation that the leaker has access to a playable build rather than only a collection of old video files. This remains unconfirmed.
Why is CyberLeek leaking GTA 6?
CyberLeek says the leaks are part of a wider protest against what it describes as anti-consumer practices in the gaming industry. Its reported demands include ending digital pre-orders, stopping publishers from selling content already present in game files as paid single-player DLC, and providing offline support for single-player games.
The group has also promoted a cryptocurrency linked to the leak campaign. This has caused plenty of criticism and has led some observers to question whether the operation is partly being used to promote the coin. Stop Killing Games, a separate game-preservation movement, has publicly rejected the leak methods and warned people not to support the campaign.
